Information and Reminders for those Attending the Awards Ceremony

The very first Hampton Roads Achievement in Community Theater Awards is almost here!  If you are planning to attend, here are some reminders and information:

  • The show is at the Ferguson Center at CNU in the Peebles Theatre on Thursday, August 15.
  • Curtain is at 7:30 PM, so you probably want to arrive a bit before that to get your seats and get settled.
  • Please remember to bring your ticket unless you have been contacted about picking up your ticket at Will Call.
  • Parking is available in the Ferguson Center parking garage and in the visitor lot located next to Trible Library.

If you are a NAMED NOMINEE (i.e., your name individually appears on our nomination announcement here):

  • We strongly encourage you to try to sit in the downstairs section of the Peebles Theatre, so that you can come on stage to collect your award if you win.  Any winners sitting upstairs will be asked to stand and wave to be recognized (but not come to the stage during the ceremony), and will need to collect their award from us following the show.
  • To ensure any named nominees who want to sit downstairs can, we will have the back section of the downstairs reserved for only named nominees (i.e. only the nominee, no friends/family) until five minutes before the show, when we will open that section to all attendees.
  • All named nominees will have a certificate that they can pick up before or after the show at a designated Nominee Certificate Pick-Up Table in the lobby.
  • In the interest of time, we will not be having winners give acceptance speeches, but feel free to tag us in your thank-you’s online after the show, if so inclined!

Finally, if you are part of a nomination for Best Performance of a Song (Ensemble), Best Play, Best Musical, or Best Season Series, please have a plan for a representative or a small group of representatives of your performance/theatre to come on stage to accept the award if you happen to win!
