The 2024-2025 Hampton Roads Achievement in Community Theater Awards is almost here!  If you are planning to attend, here are some reminders and information:

  • The show is at the Ferguson Center at CNU in the Peebles Theatre on Thursday, October 23.
  • Curtain is at 7:30 PM, so you probably want to arrive a bit before that to get your seats and get settled.
  • Please remember to bring your ticket unless you have coordinated with us to pick up your ticket at Will Call.  All tickets are free, but you do need a ticket to attend.  As of posting, we do have a limited number of tickets still available – please email us at HRACTAwards@gmail.com to request a ticket, and we will let you know if we can fulfill it.
  • Parking is available in the Ferguson Center parking garage and in the visitor lot located next to Trible Library.
  • We have nominee pins this year for anyone associated with a nomination (to include named nominees and those associated with group nominees).  We have a limited number of these – so be sure to grab yours while supplies last!
  • There is no dress code – although you can check out what people wore last year to get an idea of the vibes.

If you are a NAMED NOMINEE (i.e., your name individually appears on our nomination announcement here):

  • We strongly encourage you to try to sit in the downstairs section of the Peebles Theatre, so that you can come on stage to collect your award if you win.  Any winners sitting upstairs will be asked to stand and wave to be recognized (but not come to the stage during the ceremony), and will need to collect their award from us following the show. (You can also lurk around the sides of the downstairs when your category is coming up just in case if you are sitting upstairs for the majority of the show).
  • All named nominees will have a certificate that they can pick up before or after the show at a designated Nominee Certificate Pick-Up Table in the lobby.
  • In the interest of time, we will not be having winners give acceptance speeches, but feel free to tag us in your thank-you’s online after the show, if so inclined!

Finally, if you are part of a nomination for Best Performance of a Song (Ensemble), Best Play, Best Musical, or Best Season Series, please have a plan for a representative or a small group of representatives of your performance/theatre to come on stage to accept the award if you happen to win.

We can’t wait to see everyone out there on Thursday!
